Folklife Notes
I'm very proud to serving again this year,2007, on the board of directors for the
Alabama Folklife Association. I'll be serving a Secretary of this organization and am
very proud of it's mission and work. I'll be posting info on the organization's projects
and efforts as they develop.

Alabama Rural Schools Touring Program 2007
I've just completed my performances as part of the 2007 Rural Schools Touring Program for the
Alabama State Council on the Arts. The tour took me to the following schools in Feb./Mar. '07.
1. Berry Elementary/Fayette Co. 2.Belgreen School/Franklin Co. 3. Vernon Elementary/Lamar
Co. 4. Reid Elementary/Limestone Co. 5.Uniontown Elementary/Perry Co. 6. Gordo
Elementary/Pickens Co. 7. Phil Campbell HS/Franklin Co.

I want to thanks all the schools for having me and the ASCA for offering me the opportunity.
It has been an honor to be chosen to be a part of this select group of artists. The others
participating are: The Children's Dance Foundation, Deborah Adero Ferguson ( The Dancing
Story Lady),Wanda Johnson (Story Teller),Jacky Jack White (songwriter), and Dolores Hydock
(Theatre).
For information on The Alabama Rural Schools Touring Program, contact Dianna Green at the
ASCA : 256-242-4076.

I'm very pleased that after completing the tour , I've been able to continue the performances here
in Fort Payne in our city school system. I was able to service all four schools, 2800 students k-12.
It's been very gratifying to work with the schools in my home town.

While performing at the Fort Payne Middle School, April 5th and 6th, we were fortunate to be
able to work with Robert Moehr, our videographer, and have shot some footage that I'm hoping
to use for a DVD promo for arts in education. Doug and Mark were able to perform with me on
these dates as well.
Special Announcement

I'm very proud to announce that recently I signed a
promotional agreement with Dick Wooley and Associates.
Dick is legendary as one of the most influential music
promoters of our time. As the vice president of Capricorn
Records, he was instrumental in the careers of The Allman
Brothers, Wet Willie, Marshall Tucker, to name just a few.
While he worked for Atlantic records, he promoted Eric
Clapton, Perscy Sledge, and the list goes on and on. Check
out his site at www.kingmojo.com .

I'm looking forward to expanding my career to the next level
with Dick's help and appreciate his support. The first step will
be the release of two new tracks from my next CD. The tracks
will be included on Dick's next CD Complilation on King Mojo
Records, King Mojo All-stars Vol. 4. I'm proud to be included
with such artists as The Wet Willie Band, Big Shanty, and
others from Dick's stable of artists.

I have started work on the next Cd at Straight Up Sound in
Nashville, with my brother Dennis producing. Johnny Neel is on
harp, and Chris Anderson is on resonator. Hope everyone will
like the new stuff as much as they seem to "Back to the
Swamp".

Thank you Dick for your interest in me and my music.
Thanks to Midnight Special Radio,
Paris France for playing "Mandie's
Song"
